    Today, about 85 percent of all Architectural Coatings produced are water-based. Each year hundreds of millions of gallons of these products are sold to do-it-yourself customers and painting contractors.


    When the typical employer is asked for the reason why most people leave their jobs, the most common answer is, “money”. Since the customer is not coming to the company offering more money for the same work being done, many companies feel they are stuck between the proverbial “rock and a hard place.” In surveys done with employees, when the employers are not in the room, they give the following reasons for changing jobs – in this order:


    This handbook summarizes requirements of EPA’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Program Rule, aimed at protecting against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting activities. The rule requires workers to be trained to use lead-safe work practices and requires renovation firms to be EPA-certified; these requirements will become effective April 22, 2010.
