Historic Mid-Year Board of Directors Meetings Just Completed
After several years of work aimed at decreasing the size of the PDCA Board of Directors and increasing its productivity and effectiveness, the Board is finally a smaller entity.

PDCA is pleased to announce that the PDCA Board of Directors approved a new PDCA Industry Standard P18-08, at the Mid-Year Board of Director's meeting held in St. Louis, Missouri on August 22, 2008. PDCA Industry Standard P18-08 is entitled "Recommended Protocol for Documenting Extra Work to a Contract." The purpose of this standard is to define criteria for the documentation of extra work to a contract for painting and decorating.

Board of Director Election Process Concluded

In accordance with our newly adopted bylaws, the Board of Director (BOD) election process has concluded. Four (4) candidates from each region, west, central and east, as well as, one (1) past president candidate have been elected.


As of June 9, 2008, President George W. Bush has amended Executive Order 12989. This now directs all federal departments and agencies to require contractors, as a condition of each future federal contract, to agree to use an electronic system to verify workers' employment eligibility. In response to this Executive Order, Secretary Michael Chertoff designated E-Verify as the system of choice.
