Dear Member,

In accordance with our newly adopted bylaws, the Board of Director (BOD) election process has concluded. Four (4) candidates from each region, west, central and east, as well as, one (1) past president candidate have been elected. Commencing in August, the BOD will consist of twelve (12) directors from the three regions; one (1) director from the active past presidents totaling thirteen (13) directors. Through a transitional period the current executive committee shall serve the BOD. Also, there shall be two (2) non-voting directors; one (1)  director from our associate members and the PDCA chief executive officer (CEO).

We have before us a truly a spectacular opportunity and stronger structure for our association to improve, embrace the future and govern with excellence! The new BOD composition includes many changes that will allow PDCA to remain the “voice of the industry”. Our member leaders (directors are informed agents of the membership) shall focus on the benefits and success with their vision and actions for the long term, big picture view and the whole membership and industry. Directors have been empowered to govern with swift and energetic forward motion. We are dependant on our lead members to step forward, seize opportunity on this historic journey and to carry on the noble accomplishments of our fore fathers.

As part of the director swearing in ceremony, each director will randomly be assigned to one or two year terms in order to provide stability and stagger election cycles. Each region has four (4) directors, two director’s terms shall be one year terms and two director’s terms shall be two year terms. Six (6) director positions (two from each region) will be open to any candidates (active members) in the fall of 2009 for the term commencing in 2010. Director terms from 2010 forward shall be two years. The past president director shall begin with a two year term.

East - Carol Adkins, Ken Sisco, Mike Walker, Tie*

*Tie between Mark Adams and Joe Lombardo. The east region director candidates who tied have agreed to resolve the tie per Robert’s Rules of Order at the August director meeting.

There shall be twelve (12) regional directors consisting of four (4) directors from each region.
