For 30 years PDCA has been able to award scholarships to deserving students because of the A. E. Robert Friedman-PDCA Scholarship Fund. The A.E. Robert Friedman-PDCA Scholarship Fund was formed in 1978 to honor Bob Friedman on the occasion of his fortieth anniversary as legal counsel for the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America. He served in that capacity until 1981.
APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY BEING ACCEPTED FOR SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES!
A.E. Robert Friedman served as legal counsel for PDCA for many years and was a strong supporter of education. At the time of his passing, a request was made by his family to establish an on-going scholarship program in his honor. Since that time, over $310,000 has been contributed to the Fund, primarily by PDCA members' individual donations.
An A.E. Robert Friedman Scholarship is open to any high school senior or college age student seeking to further their education. Applicants must have an active PDCA member sponsor them through a nomination letter submitted to PDCA Headquarters.
The nomination letter must be from a PDCA member in good standing and include the student's name, address, age and telephone number, the level of education to which the award will be applied (i.e. vocational, college, graduate school), and the name of the school or institution currently attended or where the applicant has been accepted or enrolled.
Address the nomination letter to:
A.E. Robert Friedman Board of Trustees
c/o Painting and Decorating Contractors of America

The deadline for nomination letters is the 3rd Wednesday of August. (August 21, 2013)
