I'm serving on the committee developing the education program for PACE 2006. I have proposed several topics and I'm looking for feedback, especially
1) the topic's interest--to you or to PDCA members generally
2) suggestions to improve this topic
3) suggestions for speaker(s) who could present the topic well
________________________________

Proposed Title: Masonry patching and painting
Presentation Objectives: Understand what masonry repairs painters encounter in maintenance and remodeling. Understand the materials and methods a painter can use when forced to be a substitute mason. Special patching requirements for elastomeric waterproofing systems. Evaluating the surface condition. Selection and application of coating systems for masonry.
Description: Concrete patches, stucco patches.--patching methods to simulate existing surfaces, troweled, floated, brushed, "dashed." Selection of tools focusing on small batches and small areas. Review the terminology and formulation of mortar, grout, stucco, etc. Additives and bonding agents. Crack repair, caulk, backer rod. Conditioners, primers, paints and elastomeric coatings.

Woops, I'll try that again...
If I had taken this class 6 years ago I would have saved money and face with a good customer. I don't think I would be alone in this class.
