I was wondering if anyone out there uses and can recomend a good laser measure tool? Basically for speeding up the process of measuring wall space, ceiling space etc. We are using the wheel now but that takes a little time. Any thoughts or suggestions? I have found one made in Switzerland that looks pretty good.

This is what I use and love it. This web wouldn't allow the picture but you can buy it at your local Home Depot. Their SKU info is listed below.

Hi Jeff

Laser measuring devices are very acuurate with some providing accuarcy within 1/4" on 500+ feet. You can add, subtract, and mulitply (thus figure area, etc.). They are expensice tools that you should consider buying an extended warranty for. I have tested one but do not have the need for the distance they can handle, nor did I need that level of expense. A very fun expensive tool. Amazing accuracy for $400 to $700.
Look at www.lasermeters.com or www.professionalequipment.com

Sonic measuring devices that have a laser pointing device as part of their build
(I use) are very inexpensive, accurate enough, typically measure a distance of up to about 50 feet in length, and have the ability to add and multiply. $30 to $50 available everywhere. I'd recommend getting the newest model you can find, they have auto shutoff and other features you will want.

Lastly you can buy either laser or sonic here in the United States.

Good Measuring to You,

Brandt
