With the winter weather hitting parts of the Pacific Northwest, parts of the South and what looks like a lot of the East coast,
it would seem March arrives like a lion for some and a lamb for other (beautiful in Denver today).

How is March arriving business wise for you?

In talking with many members in New Orleans at PACE 2009 - it's a mixed bag.
Some are starting to hear their phones ringing more. Some, who have been busy, are seeing a slow down in bidding.

Sorry to say, we went through the rustbelt and possibly now the auto belt thing. If GM, etc. go down, it is gonna be a tough Summer. We are marketing and doing the things we have lerned from PDCA the last 10 years. The amazing thing is all the info shared and the benefits of PDCA, many don't get it. The free things to build our business and the sharing of ideas to build our business and all for the asking. Of course it will be tough do to our economic area, but we do have work, work coming in and future work. Mostly based on our effort and working with PDCA members. Hope everyone else is working hard. Keep the Faith.

There's the path for fellow members (probably many already BTDT)
If you have the opportunity to refer prospects or customers - make sure you refer those leads to your fellow PDCA members.

December through February was real slow. I have had the phone ringing as of late and have scheduled a number of jobs. A shopping center repaint that was put off is now on schedule so we have a little breathing room. I am sure with the warmer weather we will be able to "beat the bushes" and scare out some more work. PACE 2009 gave us some real motivation to try some things out that might help us generate more business.

March as a Lion or a Lamb? For me definitly a very small Lamb. The phone is very quiet. I am coming off my best year in the past five, by following a marketing plan with a direct mail campaign. I am sticking to my guns and it should pay off when the weather starts improve. Part one of my spring mailing went out this week>

The bright spot this year has been wallpaper, this is usually 15% of my business this year todate it has been 35% of my sales.

Lets hope the Lion is waking up
