Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) and Master Painters Institute (MPI) have entered into a ground breaking strategic alliance to make technical information available on-demand to every PDCA member. The technical information includes nearly every aspect of coatings, paint and various applications.

According to Dr. Ian R. Horen, PDCA, CEO, “This agreement is among the most important PDCA has entered into as an organization.” “MPI is the leading painting and coating research and development organization worldwide, and PDCA members will have on-demand access to this vast resource,” he added.

There are three key aspects to the strategic alliance with MPI. They are:

• Access to MPI's technical information on paint and coatings products.
• Access to expertise on virtually every aspect of application.
• Key resources to support PDCA's existing standards development.

In addition, MPI will make available to PDCA a new service, which enables members to access on a subscription basis updates to their specification manual. This is an online service available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

These services are on-the-job-help for every PDCA member. Together they represent having a technical assistant working for each member. PDCA members are encouraged to use this service as a means to get accurate information from a world class source about paint, coatings and application.
